7th Week 5 April 22nd - April 28th

This week we will complete Investigation 3-Seasons!

Day 1-Wednesday April 22nd:
Investigation 2 Corrections-

Day 2-Thursday April 23rd:

2. Answer the LOL for part 1 - What is it hotter in the summer?

3. Answer the focus question on page 4-Why are there more hours of sunlight in the summer?

4. Head outside around 8:00 pm tonight to see if you can get a glimps of the moon!


  
Day 3-Friday April 24th:
1. Complete the Invest 3 Vocab (page 5) using the slides below: (Click to enlarge the pics.)



































2. Watch the following video to practice how to calculate total hours of sunlight(page 6):

3. Calculate hours of light for February - December (page 7)

4. Graph your hours of sunlight (page 8). Remember your bar graph should be colorful and to use a ruler to make nice straight lines at the top of each your month's bars.

5. Head outside around 8:00 pm tonight to check out the moon!!



Day 4-Monday April 27th:

1. Explanation of sunlight hours and how that controls solstices and equinoxes.

2. Read the article-"Seasons on Earth" found on pages 9-12.

3. Complete the article reflection over the three main topics. Record two pieces of information you found interesting, important, or surprising as you read. (page 13)

4. Look over the Invest 3 study guide (pages 17 and 18), fill in what you can before our Zoom meeting.

5. Attend the Zoom meeting with Mrs. Nydle this afternoon(3:30 7A/4:30 7B), we will be working on the study guide together.

6. Don't forget to log your moon observation, it should be visible as soon as it is dark outside!




Day 5-Tuesday April 28th:
1. Complete the Seasonal Changes page 14 by watch the following video:

2. Complete the Response Sheet, page 15/16. These three students have some misconceptions from our Planetary Science unit. Use page 16 to explain how these students should change their thinking.
