Hello 7th Graders!!
This week we will focus on Investigation 4 - The Moon!! (Also learning how to use Google Classroom...)
Day 1: Monday May 4th -
1) Log into your SPS email and accept Science Google Classroom invite!!
2) Take the three question practice quiz...
3) Print the Investigation 4-The Moon Packet (Materials)
4) Answer the Part 1 Question on page 2 - What is visible on the moon? What features DOMINATE the surface? (Use the picture of the moon's surface on page 1 to help you answer....)
5) Zoom with Mrs. Nydle 7A=3:30 / 7B = 4:30. Bring your "Invest 4 Packet" to the meeting.
6) Observe the moon!!
Day 2: Tuesday May 5th -
1) In Science Google Classroom find the "Lunar Myths Stories" document under Week 7.
2) Select on of the 4 stories to read.
3) Complete page 4 in the Invest 4 packet over the story you just read.
4) Observe the moon!!
Day 3: Wednesday May 6th -
1) Complete the vocab located on page 5 of the packet using the slides below: (Click on the slide to enlarge.)
2) Using a pencil answer the Moon Statistics on page 6, using only the knowledge in your head.
3) Use the following key to correct your page 6 using a different colored writing utensil. (Click on the picture to enlarge.)
4) Now that you know some basic information about the moon, head to Google Classroom to write one more question you have about the moon... Assignment titled "Day 3-Moon Question".
5) Observe the moon!!
Day 4: Thursday May 7th -
1) Answer the question on page 7 on the Invest 4 Packet. You may describe or draw a picture of the scaled model moon to the 12 cm Earth.

3) Complete the Scaling Practice sheet on page 10. ( I have set up some of the equations to help, we will review these in our Monday Zoom on the 11th.)
4) **LAST Moon Observation**
Day 5: Friday May 8th -
1) Watch the following video to help you work through the scaling factor of the Earth/Moon Model:

2) Take a piece of Aluminum Foil (or a piece of paper) 30cm x 30cm, crumple the foil or paper to the scaled size of the moon. The trace your scaled moon inside your 12 cm scaled Earth on page 12.
3) Take a picture of your COMPLETED Moon Log and attach to your Google Classroom assignment. This is due Friday the 8th by 11:59 p.m.
